  10. Hey D, you've always graced us with a unique sense of beauty and a starlet glamour and you always seems to rocked it like no other, so I've got an idea for you. How about an male alter ego, let's call him Dereck G... I've seen you pull off breathing taking looks and I know if anyone can capture that androgynous character it's you. And if not, I'll take a 40's or 50's pinup icon.. Thanks D and Keep rocking dollface...

  13. I want to wear makeup, but not a lot. And when I say a lot I am a minimalist. However I am about to be 30 and believe that I need a little polish so that I don't look so young. Is there a way to wear only concealer and powder, of course moisturizer. I have some hyper pigmentation but I don't need to be flawless just polished. A minimalist tutorial would be awesome. I love the info from you channel but as you may know Youtube can gas you up and then a week later your not on that thanks so much

    1. Sure. Tagging is VERY important! As well as what you NAme your videos. It's fun to call a look "Rainbow Surprise" but Colorful Smoky eye tutorial is better suited for search engines. I also suggest using annotations reminding your viewers of looks linking your videos to one another and make sure to have "Liking" enabled thats a form of sharing!

      Good Luck!

  20. Hey Destiny,

OK since I do not win your contests/giveaways (LOL) I guess I can help by giving in my input for your 50,000 Subs contest.

    1. The black and animal print bag that you had in the beginning of your recent workout/master cleanse vid
    OR...
    2. The Naked 2 palette
    OR...
    3. A basket or collection of "Destiny's Favorite Things" (i.e. Makeup items, Fashion items, etc)...

YOUR NEW SITE IS WHATS UP!!!! I like it a lot!

So I will push this 50,000 like I did for your 30,000 on youtube and FB and now Twitter... LEGGO!!! :-)

  21. Hey Destiny (: I'm looking for a good powder to set my Makeup Forever HD Foundation with. Any suggestions? We happen to be the same shade in the HD foundation (#178).
I don't want to add that much more color to my face from the setting powder, so I was looking at translucent powders. But I heard that they can make your face look white when you take pictures with the flash. I don't want to look ashy...Do you suggest translucent powders?
And I also have combination oily skin so I need a powder that will mattify my face pretty well.
I'm kinda looking for an all over setting powder, not just a powder for a specific area of the face. Could you suggest a good high end and drugstore setting powder that doesn't add that much additional color or texture to my face and controls my oil?
Thank you So much! xoxo Ariana

  43. Hello. I am having hard time identifying the difference/importance of using foundation vs powder or both. If my skin is fairly clear/oily after a couple hours, can powder be used by itself? I have been wearing foundation but maybe I should just use powder, thats what they said at the makeup counter. Whats your take? I tried the queen collection-cover girl matte pressed powder and looked ASHY! Help! I also tried the gold/silver jewelry to determine my undertone, fail! So confused!

  45. Hello,

I am new to make up and I am having trouble with finding make up for my eyes. I have sunken in eyes (or maybe the term is deep set eyes). They are also small. This gives me dark circles under my eyes (I am dark caramel). Do you have any tips on how to best apply eye make-up for sunken eyes? It seems as though a lot of eye make-up tips make my eyes look smaller. Thank you and I love your channel on youtube!

You had a video where u talked about concealer, with different colors and you had a palate that you used if you could tell me the name. also a apricot primer, the name please, and the brushes you should use for each step. because I used my fingers and when I was done I looked like an ashed clown..
also the basic things a girl needs in her make up bag for day too night, what I mean; the main things you need too apply to you're face so it looks finish. so you can go to the next level of you're make up.

also palates I should have/foundations/primers/concealers(for black girls!!) quality brushes/

  70. Hi Destiny!

We just created a new tool that lets people showcase & collect makeup looks and swatches in a fun, interactive way (we call it a "mosaic")!

We'll be letting people know about this new feature soon, and to inspire people, we'll be curating example mosaics under the theme, "Favorite Lipsticks of Top Beauty Bloggers". Being a top beauty blogger yourself, we wanted to see if you'd be a part of our highlighted examples.

If you want to participate, please do the following by Jan 3:

    1. Upload your look and/or swatch of your favorite lipstick to Savvyist.com. Feel free to add a link back to your blog; any image that is clicked on will link to your blog for better discovery of your work.

    2. Reply to me (frances@savvyist.com) with the link(s)

Thank you and we wish you very happy holidays! :)

  72. Hi Destiny

    Hope your well.

Last night I was celebrating my mother's 50th. I got all dolled up and felt amazing! I took a few snaps at home before we left out no problems. However when I got to the restaurant and took pictures my face looked ghostly white! Now I'd say i'm a darker complexion than you so that ghostly white look certainly ain't cute!! I'm so glad it was a taken on my phone and not at a nightclub event! Can you imagine the shame! This is the first time that this has ever happened. I have just come back from holiday and do have a summer glow but I travel alot and this can't be the reason. I use Nars khartoum which is a tad dark for me generally especially down my nose and under eyes n cheekbones for which I uses mac studio fix nw45/50. I often mix the Nars and Mac for a perfect colour. How in the heck do I stop this from happening again. I would love if you could do a video on this.

    Forever grateful.

  73. Hi Destiny,

My name is Taheira and I'm an avid watcher of your videos on youtube. You've single-handedly inspired me to pursue my love for the art of makeup and take it more seriously. I was wondering if you could make a video about your journey to becoming a professional mua and tips on acquiring the proper products to become an official mua. I don't even know you but I love you just for giving women of color like myself the extra confidence to love our facial imperfections and be able to broadcast them without feeling embarrassed. Because of you, I no longer look at wearing makeup as a sin or hitting someone with the 52 fake out! Because of you, I can walk around with the attitude like "Yes, I may look like my life is on fleek with this beat face but I still have facial imperfections that I'm not afraid to show." You are so awesome and I can't wait to meet you one day!

    Yours truly,

    Taheira Williams
