ReplyDeleteSo, I tried MUFE HD and the artist suggested 170 but I thought we should go darker and got 175. They both "matched" he thought the 175 made me darker and I thought it made me look healthier. We came to an agreement of 175. I tried to cheat and read the descriptions on Sephora about undertones for this brand(Dead). The 170 says yellow and 175 coral. What undertone is coral? I not being a make up girl think orange. I know my moms red lipstick makes my skin look blotchy. I need help with the undertone thing I do tend to wear richer colors but non look better or worse, as far as color families go. Sorry so long but I rrrrrrrrrrrreeeallly need help.
ReplyDeletecoral is more a deep brown warm tone... Im some what coral... it's not as hard as it sounds.. take the perspective foundations outside to test...
DeleteI want to buy loreal true match foundation and I'm so confused . Please help I looked at all videos but looking at the pictures still doesn't help I think I'm warm/olive but I'm darker than the girls up there what do you recommend ? :(
ReplyDeleteif you're warm you're warm depth is ok... go for a warm deep shade they make them all the way to w10 i use 8-9
DeleteThanks for your help, great post! Quick question though, I think I'm more of a neutral shade, if that's even possible. Mac nw's are a bit too red on me, while their nc's make me look grey/dull/tired. Am I using the wrong shade ? I really don't know what undertone I am, or maybe I'm a nc in mac but the color i tried was just too light :/ Any foundation that is very caramel makes me look dull, even tho the color is fine, it's the undertone that's wrong. I don't know if it makes sense but a bit of help would be really appreciated !
ReplyDeleteHi Destiney, This has really help me, because I always thought I was warm toned. I too wear Lancôme Teint Idole 24 hr. At first I was given, 540(w), It looked so dark. I went back and I got 510(c) and it looks much better. I also purchased the Lancôme Dual Finish in Matte Suede IV, It is awesome. I know they told me that it is not needed over the foundation, but sometimes dust a light coat. I have dark circles under my eyes, they are not bad, but I order Iman Second to None concealer in clay medium. Do you think it will be okay? I am Kelly Rowland's complexion.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much very helpful....:)

I have very light skin with alot of white and pink in it but i have dark blue eyes and natrual dark brown hair with a red cast so what colors should i be wearing and what season am i? Please help.
ReplyDeleteHello I'm a nc50 usually and in summer when i'm tanned my skin get into a chocolate'y tone but my question is what type of undertones can flattering me better because i have warn undertones because of my green veins. Please help
ReplyDeletePs: sorry for my english i'm live in french West Indies
GIRL !! All of my life (well, ever since I know what an undertone is ) I've been CONVICTED that I had a warm undertone, cause all I could see was my undoubtedly green veins and a sort of golden-everything-but-cold undertone when I looked in the mirror. Also the fact that yellow lights flatters me more than pure white or blue light. (I think so...:O )
ReplyDeleteBUT NOW, GIIIRRLLL. You driving me crazy lol. I'm about Kelly Rowland or Estelle skin tone, and you telling me I'm COLD UNDERTONED ? Daannng. This is the contrary of every single thing I read about undertones on the internet. They all say that chocolate gurls, unless being Alek Wek tone, where pretty much always warm undertoned.
Now I'm asking your help. Do you know a 100% sure way of determining the undertone ? I really can't figure out whether what I see in the mirror is red or yellow. And I'm also unable to say which colors make me look tired or glowing, since I naturally look tired lol.
All I can say I that indeed red, blues and greens fit me much more than beiges (But damn I have a mustard yellow dress that makes me glowiiiiinnggg ).
But what about the yellow light thing and the green veins then ? AAAARRGGGHHHH HEEEELLLLPPPP
PS : Sorry for annoying you with my life :O
I do think that this is the best explanation you can find. But if you wanna make sure take a look at all your clothes the ones that look better on you what tone they have? Most of then belong to olive, cold or warm? Then go to your make up see your lipstiks. Do you have more peachy colours or coral golden colours or blue? And what colours you use more and look better on you? Make a detalied list so you can make sure. And look to your parents what are their undertones? Another information that my be usefull is mary kay and avon bases loks terrible on afro south amrican women it gives us (brazil ) that grey spectrun and natura (a brand of make op develop here) looks good. So we can be all black but there are many etinicities of black and also people that are mixed etinicity so what looks good for you may not look that good on me and the best person to make this choice its you.
DeleteWell in a way you could be both you could shine in both areas you could have a mixed under tone
ReplyDeleteSo just make your own palette of what colors look glowing on you and which don't hope this helped :)
Great post :)
