Grammy Fashion | Who wore what?

I live practically 5 minuets from where the 2012 Grammys were held!
I probably heard the applaus for Adele from my kitchen Table. With the awards
the makeup and the sexy LBD Adele certainly stole the show!

WIth that being said... let's see who else wore what?

Katy Perry, Kelly Osborne and Paris Hilton have all had memorable hits and misses... though I dont't LOVE any of these looks as much as I have in the past I really Like Kelly in this Golden Grecian gown from Tony Ward. It's a great Figure huggin gown and it looks great on here. Paris Looks stodgy and typical and I'm over Katy and the Hair Dye.

I understand a PUBLICITY STUNT as much as the next person.. However Nicki is on the verge of a backlash Fergie did it best of the bunch I, however, whould have KILLED in that Orange Jean Paul Gautier gown... UGH agains my skin with some nude adornments under it! GAH! IDK why she decide on black under orange against her skin but got TENACITY GO!!

Taylor as usual looks stale and matronly on the other hand Rihanna is looking revived.. it was at the Grammys where she and ex Chris Brown has a very memorable falling out. However the blonde hair and Knee cut LBD is doing the golden girl JUSTICE ! She's glowing and youthful. Ms.Swift's stylist TAKE NOTE!

Needless to say both these women are beautiful and talented but ADELE... *sigh ADELE just radiates! She looks sleek and slender in this LBD with her signature Cat eyes and red lips she is a stunner! I would also love to see her looking a little more youthful from time to time..  but she does look amazing here.

Great MOISTURIZERS for ALL AGES

Here is a List of some of the best moisturizer for VARIOUS skin types. They are ALL available in DRUGSTORES and are ALL relatively inexpensive

#1 Cetaphil

Thais is one of the 1st facial Cleansers I EVER used. It a REALLY Moisturizing and GENTLE> The have formulations for ALL skin types and It's EASY on the pockets

#2 Neutrogena Healthy Defense is a GREAT moisturizer that MANY swear by. It has a light easily absorbed texture great for Oily to combination skin.

#3 Aveeno Ultra Calming is a GREAT moisturizer for sensitive skin that reacts to over stimulation or too many scents or dyes. I like this for younger people who are not too experienced in skin care.

#4 Is the SIMPLE line.. I like this again for sensitive skin. They have a few variations and this is available in the uk!

You should also make sure to get a cleanse and a toner to go with your daily Moiturizer. Make sure it goes with your skin type!

Skin Types are

  • Type 1: Oily Oily skin tends to shiny with enlarged pores, and is prone to blackheads and blemishes. You might experience some tightness.
  • Type 2: Combination/normal This skin type has medium pores, a smooth and even texture, good circulation, healthy color, may tend toward dryness on the cheeks while being oily in the t-zone
  • Type 3: Dry Dry skin feels tight, especially after cleansing. You have a tendency towards fine wrinkles, flaking and red patches. In women of color, skin may appear ashy or dull from dead skin buildup.

SUB Categories:

Sensitive Sensitive skin tends to be thin, delicate with fine pores. It flushes easily, is prone to broken capillaries, is frequently allergic and can be rashy.

ging or sun-damaged This skin also feels tight with visible wrinkles, slack skin tone -- especially around the cheeks and jawline -- with leathery texture and broken capillaries

How to get rid of Hyper pigmentation

Q: What is HYPER PIGMENTATION?
A: Pigmentation is the coloring of a person's skin. When a person is healthy, his or her skin will appear normal in color. In the case of illness or injury, the person's skin may change color, becoming darker (hyperpigmentation) or lighter (hypopigmentation)

Q: Why does Hyper Pigmentation happen?
A: Hyperpigmentation results from the increased deposition of melanin, which causes the skin to become darker in patches. Melanin is part of skin barrier defense system in that it protects against exposure to UVR and pigmented blemishes are almost always the result of excessive stimulation by sunlight

What are the Best ways to treat Hyper Pigmentation:

The best "treatment' for this condition is preventative treatment. Since pigment and the amount of melanin in your body will ultimately determine pigment and since the sun actually browns or reddens the skin, the best advice is to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Obviously, if you are exposed to the sun, you should look into using a sun screen. Broad spectrum sun screens are the best.

After the acne itself is successfully treated and under complete control, people sometimes opt to try one or more of the treatments listed below.

Retinoids: a topical treatment can help fade marks.
Peels: Salicylic acid peels
Microdermabrasion & Exfoliation

On a personal note I am a BIG fan of these products: I have used them and have gotten benefit from using them. These are not run of the mill products they have TARGETED and EFFECTIVE ingredients in them.

Mela- D Serum

What it's used for:
Obtain the uniform complexion that you long for with this concentrated serum for hyper pigmentation. Dark spots fade with lightening kojic acid, while a blend of micro-exfoliating LHA and glycolic acid removes dark dead cells from skin's surface, for more even-toned coloring. It’s designed for the face and neck, is lightweight and absorbs quickly for ease of use. With consistent application, you’ll notice a dramatic reduction in the appearance of dark spots on your skin

My thoughts: This stuff is MAGIC it's light weight and easy yo use.
it does not bog my skin down or m=remind me that I am using it all day. It doesn't have a strong smell and can be used ALL over the Face neck and Chet.

see review HERE:

What it's used for:
The complete skin lightening daily lotion, Mela-D is suitable for sensitive skin. This breakthrough technology: Lightens: 2% Hydroquinone inhibits melanin production. Exfoliates: LHA patented technology provides targeted, precise micro-exfoliation. Protects: UVA/UVB sunscreen patented combination of octocrylene & Parsol 1789.

My Thoughts:
I absolutely LOVE this stuff... It helps out with ACNE and BREAKOUTS... It protects you from the sun and treat hyper pigmentation. I feel as though it is worth EVEY penny and have gone through two tubes of it. I still use if for sun screen on cloudy and rainy days but go for something heavier duty in the summer and or during the day!

SUNSCREEN is a VERY important ingredient in protection from hyper pigmented skin. Here are the ones I think are SUPERIOR

What it is:
An ultra lightweight sunscreen with a soft, matte finish.

What it's used for:
This lightweight sunscreen formula is designed for normal to combination skin types. It offers a soft, matte finish that never appears greasy or feels heavy. The highly effective formula provides two forms of protection against UV damage. An advanced UV filtering system is boosted by a potent antioxidant complex that promises complete protection against UVA and UVB rays. Plus, it's non-comedogenic, water-resistant and photostable for longer-lasting protection.

My Thoughts: Now, I didn't grow up using sunscreen. Though I wish I had.... If I decide to have children they WILL> The sun is no joke. Most sunscreens are. Most sunscreen are NOT PHOTO STABLE. Which means; when the sun hits them, they begin to #FAIL... This one however has prove to be AMAZING. I have heard story after story of women who "didn't burn ONE bit" on there vacation... or who's kids used this at camp and didn't burn ALL summer.... ok.. so can black skin burn? YES it can.. it's just not as  visible as when lighter skin does. This protects me when I'm hiking and I come home WITHOUT tan lines... Some people think they're cute.. I think it's a sign of SKON DAMAGE!

Dermabrasion and EXFOLIATION

What it is:
A delicate exfoliator made with micospheres and hydro-fruits.

What it's used for:
Bring out the best in your skin with Lierac Paris Soin Exfoliant - Exfoliating Face Care, by washing away dull skin and revealing new, healthy skin cells. Non-abrasive exfoliants, papaya and peach, help cell turnover in the skin, while polyethelene microspheres further buff the skin for a refreshed complexion. This gentle exfoliating formula will help even skin tone and regain loss of radiance.

My Thoughts: THIS is THE MOST A M A Z I N G exfoliator I have EVER used... and for $34 it had better be. WHY is is SO  A M A Z I N G you ask? Well it all in the regulation or oil and the PERFECTLY round DIAMON hard micro crystal that make my face/body hands and NECK feel like they have NEVER felt... It's phenomenal! I have never felt a more amazing clean fresh SMMOTH face than when I use this!

What it is:
A remarkably effective electronic facial clarifying brush that cleanses and refreshes.

What it's used for:
The Classic Skin Care System is an innovative approach to facial cleansing that utilizes a flexible, dual brush design and oscillating movements to loosen and remove impurities while clarifying the skin. Repetitive motions stimulate circulation in skin and wash away dirt and residue for a rejuvenated, fresh feel and appearance.

My Thoughts: The first time I used this I was HOOKED I am a BIG FAN of EXFOLIATION! I do it DAILY I love Mechanical (machine) Manual (hand) and Chemical (products) I really am intrigued by sonic Technology for face and tooth care. This machine keeps my face glowing and BLEMISH free for the most part. It's well worth the money as you NEVR have to buy batteries it's easy to travel with and you can easily buy replacement heads for your unit. It you have NEVER used a CLARISONIC to cleanse your face... I think it's safe to say your face has NEVER been cleansed.

Below is an INEXPENSIVE Alternative to the Clarisonic! Click HERE to See my BLOG POST on this Product.  You can also Check it out or PURCHASE it Here

BEST INGREDIENTS FOR ACNE AGING  &    HYPER PIGMENTED SKIN

Antioxidants for Sun Damage and Wrinkles

Antioxidants are natural substances made up of vitamins and minerals. They have the ability to fight "free radicals" -- unstable compounds that attack human cells and damage DNA. Damaged skin cells can lead to accelerated aging in the form of wrinkles, dry skin, dark circles under eyes, dull skin, and more.

TRY A SKIN CREAM WITH ANTIOXIDANTS

Caffeine

A 2002 study showed that caffeine applied to the skin of mice may fend off skin cancer, attacking tumors before they fully form and healing the skin. Since then, skin-care companies have worked furiously to add it to their products, and it is now available in lotions and creams.

TRY A COFFEE SCRUB

Alpha-hydroxy Acids (AHAs)

This group of natural-based acids found in a vast number of skin-care products includes glycolic, lactic, citric, and tartaric acids. Glycolic acid was the original AHA and remains popular for its ability to remove dead skin cells and leave skin smoother, softer, and more radiant.

Vitamin C

As you age, your body slows down its production of collagen and elastin, which keeps skin strong, flexible, and resilient. Evidence suggests that the antioxidants found in vitamin C may stimulate the production of collagen and minimize fine lines, wrinkles, and scars.

TRY TAKING VITAMIN C EATING CITRIC FRUITS AS WELL

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is used in many over-the-counter and prescription products to treat acne. It penetrates pores and reduces blackheads and whiteheads, with less irritation than may occur with alpha hydroxy acids. Like AHAs, salicylic acid exfoliates the skin, which can reduce signs of aging.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is incorporated into skin-care products to reduce the effects of aging. Your body produces hyaluronic acid naturally, keeping tissues cushioned and lubricated. It's found in skin, joint fluid, and connective tissues. Age, smoking, and an unhealthy diet lead to drops in production over time.
Products containing hyaluronic acid may help smooth out skin. It's especially effective when combined with vitamin C products.

Green Tea Extract

Like antioxidants, the polyphenols found in tea also have been shown to fight free radicals. Drinking green tea may help ward off cancer, infection, and cardiovascular disease.
Early studies have found the ingredients in tea can reduce sun damage and may protect skin from skin cancer when applied topically. Using green tea extract under sunscreen may yield a double dose of protection. An anti-inflammatory, polyphenols in creams and lotions may also slow signs of aging and reduce sagging skin and wrinkles.
